Memory, from Cats:

Midnight, not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory, she is smiling alone
In the lamplight, the withered leaves, collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan
Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days, it was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again
Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life, and I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes, tonight will be a memory, too
And a new day will begin
Burnt out ends of smoky days, the stale cold smell of morning
The street lamp dies, another night is over, another day is dawning

Touch me, it's so easy to leave me, all alone with the memory of
my day in the sun
If you touch me, you'll understand what happiness is...

Look, a new day has begun.

So I don't update very often. It just means my ideas are like a fine wine... They take a long time to mature, and come into their own, fit for sampling.

I guess all my wines have been stored at 38 degrees, come in discount bins, and the damn cork always breaks off in the neck of the bottle, and no matter how hard you try and get it out with the fork it always ends up with bits of grit floating around on top. Or something.

I think I've gotten used to the fact that I'll be in limbo here in Coffs, waiting for the move. I would be annoyed that I am stuck in Coffs but for one thing... I have Sasha here. She is my toehold of sanity at the moment. Something fresh, lively, and interesting about Coffs. If I wasn't pre-comitted to Lismore I might have been convinced to stay...

The only thing that is really getting under my skin is this damn hydrochloric acid bath I am sitting in. And the fact I don't know *when* I am going. Even though I'm not one for planning ahead, or setting (or keeping) appointments, I like to know what is going on. I have absolutely no control at the moment, and it really bugs me. Along with this elephant beetle.

Entech is coming up. Should be neat-o! I can't really afford it, but that has never stopped me before. It's a tradeshow for my industry- basically a huge room filled with all sorts of toys. Ten thousand square meters of lighting and sound, all ready to play with! *drool*

I hate playing the waiting game.
It's been almost a week without internet access at home.
It's at least two weeks before I can go to Lismore. Much likely to be more, though.
I have been waiting since early Feburary.

So I'm gunna make everyone wait for a while for my next post. :)

Dave keeps telling me to watch out for this bloke because he's a nazi, but when I am climbing headlands with cliff faces crumbling around me, bitou bush the only thing between me and certain spinal injury, and him scrambling along with me, the last thing on my mind is his pseudo-religious beliefs. I'm just thinking what a crazy lad this is and how much fun I'm going to have in Lismore.

I could say how much of a shit weekend I had- Getting arrested for DUI, banging my knee up pretty bad, having to sleep in an armchair, scraping the work van, driving through an unfamiliar town at night in the pissing rain with only a vague idea of where I am going, etc etc...

But it was the best weekend I've had in months, and I look forward to many more of them.

The good things? Starting to live in my new house. Meeting housemates. Climbing unfamiliar (and unstable) cliff faces at night with only a vague idea of where I am going. Sleeping in an armchair while some punk from a band with a name that sounds like a zebra giving birth yells about making love to an animal by moonlight. Eight or nine people in a van barely bigger than a large refridgerator.

I'm gunna have fun in lismore. And my criminal record probably will as well...

I went out to a rave in Missabotti (past the back of nowhere) on Saturday night. It was in a great spot.

It was the head of a valley, so the surrounds made a natural ampitheater. The hosts had gone to a lot of trouble in previous times to semi-terrace the area, and build a treehouse type stage in the focus. They obviously hold a few parties there. The vibe was kinda flat, I think mainly because the DJs that were on early played hard-house anthems. People got bored, and once you get a crowd bored its hard to get them amped again.

Luke Psywalker did his bit, and managed to get it halfway there... His industrial, guitar driven, psy trance was what most people came to hear, and he didn't disapoint.

Then, suddenly, the music stops. Heads look to the stage, wanting an explanation.

"I'm sorry folks" a clipped, accented voice intones over the PA, "The police have arrived and they've asked us to stop the party."

A collective groan, heavy with frustration and 'ah crap here we go again' tones emenates from the crowd.

Quickly cut off by a deep, throbbing 'DOOF DOOF DOOF DOOF DOOF'

And the night went on.

Tuesday, March 2

Not roll? What is it then?

I'm sorry... I'll go know.
